Cocaine size in Delhi: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday (November 15) seized 82.53 kg of cocaine in Delhi, whose value in the international market is approximately Rs 900 crore. Two people were arrested in this operation. This cocaine consignment was recovered from a courier office in Nangloi and Janakpuri areas and was to be sent to Australia.
With this action, NCB, Indian Navy and Gujarat ATS seized 700 kg of methamphetamine near the Gujarat coast. According to the information, eight Iranian citizens were arrested in this operation. Both these seizures were made in the same day. This clearly reflects the government’s commitment to a drug-free India.
Amit Shah congratulated by tweeting
Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted and congratulated NCB for these successes. He said, “Continuing major action against illegal drug trade in a single day shows the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to a drug-free India. “Our anti-narcotics action is based on a ‘bottom-up’ approach and this campaign will continue.”
Drugs syndicates are linked to foreign relations
NCB officials say that the network of this drugs syndicate is spread at the international level. The arrested accused are residents of Delhi and Sonipat. Officials said that the quality of the seized cocaine was of high level. Which is in great demand in foreign markets.
Major drug seizures have taken place in Delhi before too.
This is not the first time that such a huge drug consignment has been seized in the national capital. On October 2, 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana were seized from a warehouse in Mahipalpur, South Delhi. Its value was estimated to be around Rs 5,620 crore, which was the biggest drugs case of Delhi till date.
Tushar Goyal’s case
In the Mahipalpur case, the alleged mastermind Tushar Goyal, who was also the chairman of RTI cell of Delhi Congress, was arrested. The case gave rise to a political controversy in which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Accused Congress of pushing youth towards drugs and winning elections with illegal money.
